Who are You ?
We are a group of 2 members that enjoys doing urban exploration in the Quebec city area. Split and Logik were the first 2 members of team coolpix who did a little urban exploration before joining up with Roofire. Split now stopped doing Urban Exploration but is still a good friend and sometimes comes along. UEQ also enjoys photography. We also go by the name of Team Coolpix because all of us own Nikon Coolpix series digital cameras. Our love for urban exploration is what joined us together. We do not give our name or age away because of the illegality of the things we do.
What Kind of Buildings do You Explore ?
We explore closed or abandoned buildings, tunnels, construction sites and sometimes active sites. Basically, we go places that we shouldn't. We usually prefer abandoned buildings because we like decay and we like to enter old places and get a feel of what it was like in the past. We also find deserted buildings much more thrilling because we never know what to expect ( unstable floors, security, asbestos, ...)
How Long Have You Been Exploring ?
This is the first year we have been exploring we started at the beginning of the summer of 2003. We have done several urban exploration trips bur not always together. So you can say that we are sort of new to this although we have been studying the subject for a while now.
Are There Rules?
We can't say that there are any rules because if you UE you are already breaking the law but we encourage urban explorers to leave the building in its original state (no vandalism). Take only pictures, leave only footprints. We also believe that nothing should be taken from a building so that other UEers can see. You should not have to break windows to get inside a building, although it is ok the take of some boarding or bars off as long as you put back up after... When UEing you just have to use you common sense and most of all HAVE FUN.
Here is a short list of the rules that UEQ fallows for every trip. No exceptions. We highly enforce these rules.
1. No breaking in (no smashing windows or kicking in doors)
2. No vandalizing (no tags or graffiti, no smashing walls)
3. No stealing.
4. No drugs or alcohol during exploration.
5. UEQ Members only, friends only come on rare occasions.
We do not encourage you to go out in these buildings.
A lot are dangerous or have active surveillance.
We do this so you don’t have to leave home to see the buildings in detail.
This is why we do not give directions to the buildings or put the entrance
we used. If you still decide to go, we are not responsible to any bad luck
you may have...
